Sugary flowers: when Nature meets Taste

The way of producing sugary flowers and leaves has got an ancient taste as its roots can be found in XIII century.

Plounged in yolk and coated with sugar, at the beginning this products were mainly meant for pharmacies. In old books can be found recepies of jams, gellies and even pancakes enriched with sugary flowers. Actually only two centuries ago the confectioners had the sublime idea to combine their art with the nature products, giving way to sweets made of rose petals, jasmine flowers, violets or vervain leaves, just to mention some of them.

In Tolouse, now renowned as the "violet ville", for the first time the violets were used to create this special gourmandise.

Nowadays the sugary flowers and leaves are used in refined Tea Parties to side your favourite cup of Tea. The perfect special idea to personalise pies or cupcakes. They can be even be an alternative wedding favor.
