Yabukita is a hybrid from Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu Mountains, and today represents the most popular green tea in Japan. It might be said that this Tea is the fruit of the Japanese brilliance: actually they have exploited in their favor unfavorable atmospheric conditions. In fact, the prefecture next to the Pacific Ocean, where the climate is harder and the temperatures are low, was thought to give rise to a cultivar that was resistant to atmospheric agents.
The result is a tea with a complex aroma, where tannins are accompanied by the unmistakable taste of Umami.
