Raku is a Japanese technique to work clay. It reflects the essence of zen that enhances not only the harmony contained in small and simple things, but also the beauty given by natural shapes.
Its origin is connected with the Japanese Tea Ceremony: a celebration realised with poor objects, the most important one the bowl. The matcha bowl doesn't have to be perfectly round. The main point is its dimension, it has to be such to be easily held with both hands.
